Captain America debutted in March of 1941 at a time where America hadn't fully entered World War 2, but in the 9 months after its release; his symbolism took on a whole new meaning. He was a beacon of hope, a patriot and a warrior who would never-ever give up no matter how poor the odds. As the men shipped out for combat the women they left behind took to the factories and hospitals, they rationed and did whatever they could to support the troops.
So to honor all those who have served, active, retired and passed we will not forget the time they have endured nor can we forget the countless lives of innocents lost.
