This is the Cover for Grimm Fairy Tales Vol 7 trade paperback.
I say the because Im not 100% sure this is the cover theyll use. Usually the gorgeous covers are done by Nei Ruffino and personally Id really like to see her take on it. In fact a big thanks goes to her for providing some reference on the new characters.
This is also the test image that got me working with Zenescope and so it has a special spot of happiness in my heart.
Its certainly not the best I can do, I was extremely nervous, excited, anxious the very butterflies you get just before the big game or waiting for the gun to sound during a track meetjust tons of adrenaline was flowing and that actually hurt the image in spots but thankfully the good hides some of the bad. Most important thingIt was a lot a fun to do.
Lines by: Romano Molenaar -- Seriously this cover would rock with just his lines!
Colors by I: Corey Knaebel
Well for this particular image it was drawn by another artist.
the editor wanted it "painted over"
so that means I had to color over the lines. I can't remember if I duplicated the line work and colored in between layers or not.
but I used Photoshop and a tablet - honestly wish I could provide better info, I know if I had to do it again. I'd likely use another approach.
You essentially have to redraw everything the artist did only in color.
No surprise they gave you more work!
Your ability to render metal is absolutely amazing
I wish I could color like this. This is insanely good looking. Great job!
