As a huge fan of Avatar the Last Airbender it is about time I do some fan art to show my respect and admiration towards the show.
I would love to be part of the awesome team behind Avatar, which is created and produced by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.
This image was created in Photoshop in roughly 6-8 hours. I did a lot of experimenting with colors grabbing 50 or so screen shots from my favorite Avatar site: Avatarspirit.net
Katara and Avatar the Last Airbender belong to Michael DiMartino, Bryan Konietzko and Nickelodeon Animation Studios.
Special thanks to Avatarspirit.net for having an awesome library of screen shots and keeping us all posted on the latest Avatar news!
it seems reather obvious that this is at least inspired by the pose of [link] by *GENZOMAN....it would probobly be a really good idea to credit them for the pose, so you don't get anybody yelling at you, or anything.
Actually no it wasn't inspired by GENZOMAN's piece, in fact I felt really defeated seeing his awesome work bareing so much resemblance to mine.
I had nearly thought about not doing it at all.
But by the time I had seen his work I had already scanned in my image and decided to color it (about a month ago). So I said oh well.
Much respect to GENZOMAN though, his work is truly awesome!
On a side note I got my twisting pose idea from Dancing with the Stars combined with the episode "Cross roads of destiny" where Katara holds onto Aang
as they escape via a twisting water elevator.
Thanks a bunch for all the comments here and on ASN!
My favorite parts are the chinese writing on her belt/obi (i dunno what's more proper in this case to call it) and the blue shading (shadow?) around her eyes. This is really pretty.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
